Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan Movie Review: Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, directed by Santosh Singh, is a poignant romantic drama that rekindles the appeal of traditional Bollywood love stories while also being deliberately suited for today’s audience. In an age of fast-paced thrillers and loud storytelling, this film provides a refreshing escape with its tender, emotionally complex drama that resonates with both young hearts and nostalgic souls.

Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan Movie Story

The film, based on Ruskin Bond’s ‘The Eyes Have It’, follows Saba (Shanaya Kapoor), a young woman travelling blindfolded for theatre training, who becomes stranded. On her way to Mussoorie, she meets Jahaan (Vikrant Massey), a calm and caring stranger who quickly becomes much more than a stranger. Their friendship grows slowly via shared blunders and conversations, blossoming into a love that is both innocent and emotionally mature.

Visually-Melodious Movie

Mansi Bagla’s writing keeps the story honest and refreshingly straightforward, with subtle allusions to modern dating culture while being grounded in classic emotional beats. Vishal Mishra’s music lifts the storyline even further, with songs like “Nazara” and “Alvida” seamlessly blending into the drama and creating an indelible impact. The visuals are equally appealing, with calm settings and sophisticated production that add dimension to the romantic ambiance.

Vikrant-Shanaya’s Charming Chemistry

Vikrant Massey, known for his in-depth roles in movies like ‘12th Fail’ and ‘Sector 36’, has a calm, more romantic side here, which suits him perfectly. Shanaya Kapoor, making her debut, impresses with a bold and charming performance as Saba, portrayed with sincerity and elegance. The chemistry between them is natural and convincing, lending warmth to the film’s tone.

Final Verdict

Directed by Santosh Mishra and produced by Mansi Bagla, Vipin Agnihotri and Varun Bagla, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan reminds us that love stories do not require grand gestures to feel worthy. This emotional and feel-good film deserves a solid 3.5 stars.
