Lok Sabha Election 2024: The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Election is ready to unfold in 58 constituencies including the national capital territory, Delhi. In the last and fifth phase with Maharashtra constituencies in it the polling queues were star-studded with veteran actor Dharmendra to mom-to-be Deepika Padukone showing up to fulfill their duty as Indian citizens. Akshay Kumar turned up the polls for his first-ever vote as a citizen of India. Kumar gave up his Canadian citizenship gaining him the right to vote in the Indian election. Akshay Kumar is not the only Bollywood actor with foreign citizenship. A list of A-lister actors cannot vote in India. Let’s take a look at them.

Alia Bhatt

Beloved Gangubai of Bollywood has surely won the love of her country's people but for the unaware let me tell you that Alia Bhatt is not an Indian citizen. Alia holds a British passport, as a citizen of the United Kingdom, refraining her from voting in India.

Katrina Kaif

Exceptionally talented and charming Kat’s fortune is due to her massive fan following in India. She is among one of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood with numerous accolades to her name. Kaif too is devoid of the right to vote in the Indian territories as she was born in British Hong Kong and holds British citizenship.

Jacqueline Fernandez

The ‘Housefull 3’ actress Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Sri Lanka but is based in India for her commercial commitments. She has enchanted her audience with her skilled dance movements and acting skills. Her surprisingly improving grip on the Indian dialects too is a determinant of her work in the country. But as a Sri Lankan citizen, she has no voting rights in India.

Nora Fatehi

Famed for her graceful dance movies, and sensuous looks, Nora Fatehi was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. The dancer-actor is based in India but is not a citizen of India, not allowing her to exercise her voting rights in the country.

Imran Khan

The OG chocolate boy of Bollywood, known for giving the cinema some of the earliest green flag characters in his film, Imran Khan is set to make his comeback in Bollywood after 10 years with a quirky comedy ‘Happy Patel’ produced by Aamir Khan.

Imran Khan was born in Madison, United States, and cannot cast his vote in India.

With Akshay Kumar giving up his citizenship to embrace his Indian roots, there is anticipation that these actors may do the same in the future.
