Arvind Swamy Biography: South superstar Arvind Swamy is an actor, model, entrepreneur and television. He is a popular face in Tamil cinema and has done many films including Roja (1992), Bombay (1995), Minsara Kanavu (1997) Thani Oruvan (2015), Dhruva (2016), Bogan (2017) and Chekka Sevantha Vaanam (2018). He made his debut in the film industry with Mani Ratnam’s blockbuster film Thalapathi (1991)  starring Rajinikant. Now Arvind is all set to come back on silver screens with Bollywood biopic film Thalaivii based on the life of  J. Jayalalithaa. Arvind will be seen in the role of MG Ramachandran, the Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Arvind Swamy Family and Education 

Born on 18th June’70 in the family of industrialist V.D. Swami & Vasantha, Bharatanatyam dancer, Arvind studied in Sishya School. Later in 1987, he completed his schooling from Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School. He did a Bachelor of Commerce from Loyola College, Madras and went to Wake Forest University, North California to complete master’s degree in International Business.

Arvind Swamy Career

Once he was asked to get off the stage in Loyal Theater Society, then Mani Ratnam and Santosh Sivan taught him the basics of filmmaking. After that he made his debut in Thalapathi and then played the lead role in Roja. He performed brilliantly in Bombay for which Time Magazine called his performance “Soulful”. He is one of the few actors of India who achieved pan-Indian appeal. In 1994’s Disney’s The Lion King, he dubbed the Tamil version for adult Simba. He then starred in Minsara Kanavu alongside Kajol & Prabhu Deva, and Priyadarshan’s Saat Rang Ke Sapne was his first Hindi film produced by Amitabh Bachachan alongside Juhi Chawla. 

 His last two films before his break were En Swasa Kaatre and Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya. Then he spent more than a decade in businesses and returned after 13 years of break, with Kadal and provided voice over in Ceylon. And continued acting from 2013 to 2018.

In June 1994, Arvind married Gayathri Ramamurthy and they both had one daughter Adhira and a son Rudra. The couple divorced in 2010 after living separately for seven years. Arvind got custody for his children during this divorce. In 2012 Arvind married Aparna Mukherjee who is a lawyer by profession.
