Big Shots of Malayalam Film Industry Alleged With Sexual Harassment Cases After The Hema Committee Report

Mollywood Controversy: In the aftermath of the Hema Committee Report getting public on 19 August 2024, as many as 17 women from the Malayalam film industry has come forward with their horrid experiences of sexual assault and harrasment.

Following the increasing number of alleged and reported cases of sexual assault, many members of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) resigned en masse including the Predident Mohan Lal. 

Malayalam actor Minu Muneer has alleged actor politician Mukesh M for abusing her along with actor Jayasurya who have been reported by more than one woman and booked under Section 354 to  outrage the modesty of women. 

Another actress Sonia Malhar claimed that this is not a one time instance, she herself has encountered multiple instances of sexual harassment and verbal abuse over 11-years of her career.
