A film that took the audience by surprise. Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies brought simple humour and innocent comedy back on screen, but with a subtle punch of criticism of patriarchy.

One of the most promising debuts in the action genre is Lakshya in Nikhil Bhatt’s film Kill. The film became a sensation overnight for its “Hollywood-like” action sequence and the ease with which the lead actor portrayed emotions ranging from love and hurt of losing a lover to rage and responsibility as an army officer.
