Cannes Film Festival 2025 Date

The Cannes Film Festival 2025’s opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 13, at 7:15 PM local time (10:45 PM IST). The official Festival de Cannes YouTube account and website will stream the entire festival live 24/7. The Cannes social media handles also provide updates on red carpet moments, press conferences, the main competition, and other events.

Indian Celebrities at Cannes 2025

This year, while fashion icon Aishwarya Rai is all set to make a comeback, Alia Bhatt will be making her red carpet debut after taking the Met Gala 2024 to storm. The actress will be attending the Cannes Film Festival 2025 as the global brand ambassador of L'Oréal Paris. 

Filmmaker Payal Kapadia, who made waves at Cannes 2024 with her movie “All We Imagine As Light,” winning the Cannes Grand Prix Awards, will also attend this year’s Cannes as a jury member. 

Sharmila Tagore will attend a special screening of Satyajit Ray’s classic film “Aranyer Din Ratri,” in which she co-starred with Soumitra Chatterjee.

Karan Johar will be attending the prestigious film festival with his upcoming movie Homebound, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishan Khatter is set to have its world premiere at Cannes. It is expected that both Janhvi and Ishan will be attending the film festival.
