Caste Census of India: CM Nitish Kumar puts his views in front of PM Modi, a decision from Prime MInister awaited now

Caste Census of India:

With an aim to show solidarity on the issue of the Caste Census, a meeting of an 11-member all-party delegation of various parties of Bihar's opposition and parties led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took place at 11 AM today. 

While Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) being a part of the delegation was the highlight as the party has a different opinion on this issue. Minister Janak Ram from the BJP quota was also included in the delegation. Leader of Opposition from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Tejashwi Yadav was also in the favour of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The PM Modi’s decision awaited:

After meeting the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that “the representatives of all the parties of Bihar gave their views and the Prime Minister acknowledged everyone. We urged them to consider. He has not rejected it.”

After the meeting, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav said that now the decision of the Prime Minister is awaited.

Leaders from every opposition party were included in the delegation:

In the delegation, Janata Dal United (JDU) was represented by Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary. Jitan Ram Manjhi from Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Minister for Animal and Fisheries Mukesh Sahni from Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) were involved. Janak Ram was also a minister from the BJP quota. All these three parties including BJP are involved in the government.
