Chhaava Movie Collection: Bollywood heartthrob Vicky Kaushal is back with his powerful on-screen presence once again with the epic drama ‘Chhaava’, giving audiences a goosebump of action, valor, and spectacular fight scenes. Chhaava is based on the story of the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha Kingdom and the chronicles of his reign and his bravery. The movie stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, and Akshaye Khanna plays the antagonist. Released on 14 February, the movie has made a remarkable box office impression, making it the only Hindi Historical Film with the biggest opening.

Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 1

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Chhaava’ earned Rs 31 Cr in the domestic box office on its first day. Later in the day, Maddock Films revealed that the film grossed Rs 33.1 Cr on its first day. They further stated that the film grossed Rs 50 Cr worldwide. The film played around 1300 shows in Mumbai, with an overall occupancy of around 42%. On its first day in the Delhi-NCR region, the film had over 1300 showings, with an overall occupancy of approximately 27 percent. On the other hand, Pune had 79.75 percent occupancy, while Hyderabad had 56.75 percent, Chennai had 35.50 percent, and Bengaluru had 34.75 percent.

With Chhaava’s immaculate box office earnings, the movie has become the biggest opener in Vicky Kaushal’s career with a leading role. Not only this, but the opening collections of ‘Chhaava’ are roughly equal to the combined total of Vicky’s last six theatrical releases, which include Bad Newz (Rs 8 crore), Sam Bahadur (Rs 5 crore), The Great Indian Family (Rs 1 crore), Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (Rs 5 crore), Bhoot Part One The Haunted Ship (Rs 5 crore), and Uri (Rs 8 crore).

Chhaava Movie Release Date

Released on Valentine’s Day, Chhaava is directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Productions. Vicky plays the role of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the Maratha empire’s founder, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Rashmika plays Sambhaji Maharaj’s wife Maharani Yesubai, and Khanna portrays the role of Aurangzeb. Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, and Vineet Kumar Singh are also seen in pivotal roles.
