Deepika Padukone Scripts History As The First Indian To Receive Hollywood Walk of Fame

Bollywood to Hollywood:  Leaving a mark on the global front, Deepika Padukone becomes the first Indian actor to receive the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the class of 2026. Chosen from ‘hundreds’ of celebrities across the world, Padukone made it to the list of the final 35 people selected to receive the honor.

Deepika Padukone joins a list of popular celebrities from the field of motion pictures, entertainment, sports, television, and theaters like Demi Moore, Miley Cyrus, Timothee Chalamet, Emily Blunt, Cotillard, Franco Nero, Gordon Ramsey, Rami Malek and Stanley Tucci, named to receive the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Class of 2026. 

The honorees were selected by the Walk of Fame selection panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in a meeting held on 20 June.

During a live streaming event, Peter Roth, former CEO of Warner Bros. Television and chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee, announced the list of celebrities selected to receive the title. 

“We are excited to announce the newest selections of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined on the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026,” said Roth in a statement.

Deepika Padukone’s Global Achievements

In her career of over two decades, Deepika Padukone has gained global recognition and stardom for her skills on screen, fashion sense on runways, and brand collaborations worldwide. 

She debuted in Hollywood with Vin Diesel in xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, 2017.  

Her style choices and fashion selection made her a recognised name at the Cannes and Met, making headlines for her impactful looks.

She was named in the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME magazine in 2018. 

In 2022, she unveiled the  FIFA World Cup trophy at the 2022 final in Qatar, as a brand ambassador for French fashion brand Louis Vuitton. She is also the first India to become the face of luxury jewelry label Cartier.

On the work front, Padukone is making a gradual return to screens in India with Atlee’s magnum opus AA22XA6 with Allu Arjun. She is also a part of Prabhas’s Kalki 2898 sequel. 

Her recognition in the Hollywood Walk of Fame continues to strengthen her position as a representative of the Indian entertainment industry, adding a new feat to her list of achievements.
