Delhi Weather: The India Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for Delhi for the entire week from Monday, predicting heavy rainfall across the capital. Though the rain will bring respite from the high heat and humidity, the rainfall poses the risk of flooding in the Yamuna River.
As of Sunday morning, the water level was recorded at 204.14 meters, just a few centimeters below the danger mark of 204.50 meters.
The IMD has warned that the water level could increase in the next 24-48 hours, increasing the risk of flooding especially in the low-lying regions like Yamuna Bazar, Rajghat, Kashmiri Gate, and Civil Lines. The Delhi Flood Control Department has increased vigilance and asked the residents of the areas to stay cautious.
