DTC Bus News: How to Apply for Saheli Smart Card? Know Process, Documents Required, and Other Details

DTC Bus News: The Delhi government began providing free bus travel for women in 2019 under former Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. Now that the BJP administration has returned to power in Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has made some changes to the format of free bus travel, which will continue. Women are currently riding with a pink slip given by the DTC bus operator. However, the Delhi government will offer a smart card, also known as the Saheli smart card. 

Saheli Smart Card Process

The entire process will be online. Women will be allowed to travel for free by having the card created once. To obtain this card, the woman’s age must be above 12 years. This will only be made for women who permanently live in Delhi and not in any other area of the NCR. To apply, visit the Delhi Transport Corporation’s (DTC) portal and register. Select the bank from which they wish to obtain the card. The KYC process will have to be completed using the Aadhar card and going to the bank. The bank will then send the Saheli Smart Card to the home address.
