Pre-Eid Skincare For Sun-Damaged Skin

Sun damage is unavoidable in a tropical country like India, but with the right precautions and skincare measures, it can be reduced to keep your skin even and glowing. Here is how to do it.

Hydration

Regular sun exposure affects the skin barrier, resulting in dehydration and loss of moisture on the skin. This will cause dryness, roughness, and flaky skin. To avoid that, hydration from the inside out is imperative. Drinking plenty of water and having a diet rich in antioxidants and water quantity will hydrate your skin from the inside.

Exfoliate

To achieve an even skin, use a gentle and natural exfoliator to remove the dead skin cells and get brighter skin for the D-day.

Soothe & Calm

The sun can cause inflammation and redness on the skin. Irritated skin will further get aggravated with the makeup or skin enhancement that you apply to it. So, after a gentle exploitation, soothing and calming skin is a must. Use a natural serum, calming gel, or the good old aloe vera gel to soothe the skin.

Chemical Peels

An easy and efficient way to get bright and glowing skin is to use a chemical peel 2-3 days before Eid, which will allow the skin to recover as well.

Hydrating Sheets

Use a hydrating sheet mask or facial oil the day before Eid to get the last-minute glow on the festival.

Follow-up steps:

Make sure you wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day to keep the skin from getting further damaged.

Use DIY home scrubs if you have sensitive skin.

If you suffer from hyperpigmentation and use actives like niacinamide or vitamin C, continue to use them.
