FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week: Rahul Mishra's The Enchanted Garden Collection drops Magic in Delhi

While the fashion industry is eyeing on the ongoing  FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week 2022, Designer Rahul Mishra gave a treat to fashion enthusiasts and held an outdoor showcase of his nature-inspired collection at the Italian embassy to kickstart Lakme Fashion Week 2022 in Delhi. The latest collection by Rahul Mishra titled "The Enchanted Garden" really took the breath away with its magical pieces.

Let us tell you that his collection is inspired by the designer's time spent in Italy and brings to life his memories & his love for flora and fauna. The structural 2D & 3D embroiderers are as mesmerizing as the overall aesthetics of the collection.

While the collection left everyone spell bound, the environment of the Italian embassy with greens, trees, floral and all the other natural aesthetics made the entire show magical. Even the traditional ram was ditched and the models showcased the design while doing the cat-walk on the lawns. 

Italian ambassador Vincenzo de Luca was the host of the show and talking. Talking about his work, Rahul Mishra shared in a media interview that the designs are reflecting what he observed and learned during his stay in Italy. “I have studied in Italy, and wanted to recreate a little piece of Tuscany in India. When I found out that I would be showcasing at the Italian embassy’s lawns, this also became an important part of my show. Talking about the Enchanted Garden, all my memories of being in the most beautiful places in Italy - when my wife and I were studying there - have been recreated in this collection," He Added.

First Big Fashion Show Amid Pandemic

Let us tell you that it was the first big fashion show held in Delhi after the pandemic and has magnated many views and applause for the designer. Talking about the big show after the pandemic Rahul said, “We have been seeing fashion on a small screen, and the beauty of touch and feel has been missing from our lives for the past two years. So I wanted people to be able to feel and touch the clothes, because it is going to be a big disappointment if a piece like that is passed on as a print, something which an artisan has worked on for probably 10,000 human hours."
