India Action on Turkey: Turkey, a close ally of Pakistan, has suffered a big defeat in India after its company, Celebi Aviation, was barred from offering services at Indian airports. The Delhi High Court upheld this ruling after the Government of India revoked Celebi's security clearance on May 15, 2025. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) carried out the cancellation, citing national security concerns. The decision is thought to be the result of Turkey’s outspoken support for Pakistan during heightened Indo-Pak tensions, particularly following India’s Operation Sindoor, which Turkey openly opposed.
Celebi Aviation, which provides ground handling and cargo services at numerous Indian airports, appealed the government’s decision in the Delhi High Court, claiming that the permission was cancelled without notice. However, Justice Sachin Dutta dismissed the case, stating that national security takes precedence over procedural reasons. This incident is also considered part of a larger trend of increased public and official dissatisfaction with Turkish engagement in Indian affairs, which is fuelling the ‘Boycott Turkey’ movement.
