Restaurant Like Coffee: Every year on October 1st, International Coffee Day pays honour to the enjoyed beverage that helps to wake up the world. This day highlights the global significance of coffee in terms of culture, commerce, and society. It’s a moment to celebrate the journey of those fragrant beans from remote farms to our cups, as well as the dedication of coffee growers, producers, and baristas.
This year’s International Coffee Day theme will revolve around the topic “Sustainability in Every Cup.” Coffee lovers celebrate by drinking their favourite brews, tasting new flavours, and learning about the art of preparing coffee. Beyond the exquisite taste of coffee, International Coffee Day reminds us of the relationships it generates, bringing people together over a common appreciation of this aromatic concoction.
Nothing compares to the aroma of freshly made coffee filling your house. Even if you lack the expertise of a professional barista, you may still enjoy a broad range of coffee varieties in your home kitchen. These steps provide you with the tools to create your preferred coffee drinks, whether you prefer the traditional brew, a powerful espresso, or the trendy Dalgona coffee.
Procedure
Measure coffee grounds: A general guideline is to use 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds per 6 ounces of water, but adjust to your taste preference.
Boil water: Heat water to just below boiling (about 200°F or 93°C).
Add coffee grounds: Place coffee grounds into a filter in your coffee maker.
Brew: Pour hot water over the coffee grounds and let it steep for about 4-5 minutes.
Enjoy: Serve hot with milk and sugar, if desired.
Espresso is used to make several popular coffee beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas.
Procedure
Grind coffee beans finely. For a constant fine grind, use a burr grinder.
Use roughly 18-20 grams of coffee grinds for a double shot of espresso.
Tamp the grounds: Firmly press the grounds into the portafilter to form a compact puck.
Brew the espresso by inserting the portafilter into the espresso machine and extracting the espresso for 25-30 seconds.
To enjoy the full flavour of espresso, it should be served in a small cup, preferably without sugar or milk.
Procedure
Brew espresso: Follow the above espresso-making instructions.
Froth milk by steaming it until it becomes creamy and frothy. If you have an espresso machine, you may use a milk frother or a steam wand.
Pour the espresso into a cup, then top with equal parts steaming milk and milk froth.
Optional: For added flavour, put chocolate or cinnamon on top.
Procedure
In a jar or pitcher, combine coarsely ground coffee (approximately 1 cup) and cold water (4 cups).
Refrigerate for at least 12 hours (overnight is preferable).
Remove the grinds using a fine-mesh strainer or a coffee filter.
Dilute with water or milk over ice and sweeten to taste.
Procedure
Combine instant coffee, sugar, and hot water in a container or jar in a 1:1:1 ratio (e.g., 2 teaspoons each).
Whip the mixture quickly with a hand mixer or a whisk until it is light and foamy.
For a delightful, frothy Dalgona coffee, spoon the whipped coffee over a glass of cold or hot milk.
