Jio 5G: In the 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) held on June 24, Chairman Mukesh Ambani has finally announced the JioPhone-Next. Bringing the most affordable smartphones in India, the new range will be made in partnership with Reliance Jio and Google. The sale for the same in the Indian market will start from 10th September on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. As per the announcement, this new range of smartphones will be equipped with features and apps from both Jio and Google and will work on Google Android-based operating system.

While the price of the JioPhone Next has not been disclosed yet, Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio, has claimed that it will be the cheapest smartphone not only in India but in the world. Mukesh Ambani announced that the new JioPhone Next is designed according to the needs of Indians, which will help make India 2G free. The JioPhone Next will be first made available in the Indian market and later will be on sale in other countries. According to Mukesh Ambani, there are about 300 million 2G mobile phone users in India due to the expensive 4g smartphones. With the vision of making India technological advance and 2G free, Sundar Pichai and Mukesh Ambani have together collaborated to bring the affordable smartphone.

Availability of Voice assistant in the JioPhone Next to helping users in handling phones easier.
Inbuilt Automatic Read Aloud Screen Text feature for helping users to automatically convert the text written on the phone screen into audio.
Language translation features.
JioPhone Next users will be supported by Google Play Store for downloading apps.
Best camera and Android updates.
The optimized version of the Android operating system will be available.
The launch of the JioPhone Next will give tough competition to overseas companies like Xiaomi, Samsung and Realme.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that ‘JioPhone Next is specially made for India and it will be very beneficial for millions of Indians who will be experiencing the Internet for the first time. A new 5G partnership between Google Cloud and Jio will help more than a billion Indians connect to faster internet.’
According to Reliance Jio Chairman Mukesh Ambani, ‘Reliance Jio is at number two in the world in terms of data consumption. Around 630 million GB of data is consumed per month on Reliance Jio's network in India. This is 45 per cent more than last year.’
