Met Gala 2024: The gala of the year has commenced finally with stars from around the world bracing the red carpet at the Met Gala 2024 in their ‘Garden of Time’ themed dresses. The extravaganza at the Metropolitan Museum of Art began Monday morning with the stunning looks of the stars now surfacing the internet. Last year marked the debut of some Indian stars at the Met 2023 red carpet, and with progression in years, the representation of India at the Met progresses with Alia Bhatt, Isha Ambani, and Natasha Poonawala with others brace the carpet.

Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt did not fail to stun at the Met 2024 red carpet with her Sabyasachi mint green saree. The custom-designed saree featured a 23-foot-long train covering the red carpet with real gems studded all over the saree.

For marking her second appearance at the event the ‘Gangubai’ actress left us all smitten in her desi take on the theme of the event. The floral motifs went well with her soft glam face and Kundan accessories. Alia was styled by her stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania

Isha Ambani

Isha Ambani radiated a glow in a bespoke Rahul Mishra couture sari gown embroidered by hand for the fashion spectacle. Taking a stand for sustainable and ‘crafted-in-India’ fashion on the International stage, Ambani’s floral saree-gown was laced with hand embroidery from artists across the Indian village, which took around 10,000 hours to assemble per the reports.

Moreover, the intricate details of flowers, butterflies, and other flora and fauna kept it true to the theme of ‘The Garden of Time’. Stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania wore the stylist hat for Isha Ambani too.

Mona Patel

Indian fashion entrepreneur and the CEO of Forbes Next 1000 honoree, Mona Patel made a spectacular debut at the Met 2024 in a butterflies-inspired custom creation by Iris Van Herpen. Looking mystical and magical, Patel wore Herpen’s characteristic structural silhouettes and was styled by Law Roach for the evening. What stole the show was Patel’s 3D butterfly studded butterflies, a common motif of the dress aligning with the ‘Garden of Time’ theme.

Natasha Poonawalla

Fashion connoisseur Natasha Poonawala arrived in a custom-made bodycon dress by Maison Margiela, designed by John Galliano. Her white strapless dress featured black ripped chiffon alluding to the marbles. Her white cap and Christian Louboutins completed the look.

As the “Oscars of Fashion” unfolds yet another memorable saga in the world of fashion, the hopes for Indian artists and their art to take center stage are thriving with their astounding exhibition at the Met.
