Met Gala 2025: Shah Rukh Khan To Diljit Dosanjh, Bollywood Debutants Take The Red Carpet In Dandy Style

Met Gala 2025: It is not called ‘fashion’s biggest night’ for no reason. The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event for the Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Artists, singers, actors, businesswomen, designers, and more renowned names of their field are invited to contribute to the event in their finest drapes and trails. 

This year, the Met was held on Monday in New York City. For the first time, the men’s exclusive theme was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the dress code was “Tailored for You.”

Bollywood Debutants at Met Gala  

Bollywood has emerged as one of the biggest attractions at the Met, especially this year, when the King Khan of the industry finally took the call to debut on the red carpet in the US. Shah Rukh Khan’s Met debut is the talk of the town, and joining him on the red carpet are his fellow actors and designers, including Kiara Advani, Diljit Dosanjh, and Manish Malhotra. 

SRK Debuts At Met 

Shah Rukh Khan stole the show with his debut at the Met Gala carpet in a custom Sabyasachi ensemble boasting fine tailoring and exquisite jewels. Khan looked dapper in a tailored all-black suit, high-waisted trousers with a floor-length blazer.

And SRK did not shy away from drenching himself in gilded jewels with layered necklaces from a choker to a long necklace featuring a bold ‘K’ pendant. He opted for stacks of rings in both hands with a snowflake brooch, and a cane with golden details. No doubt the Kind indeed looked like a ‘Raja’.

Kiara Advani Debuts With Baby Bump 

Kiara Advani wrote history as the first Indian actress to flaunt her baby bump at the Met while also making her Met debut. Her look was a narration of motherhood, strength, and the power of creation that a mother holds. 

In a custom Gaurav Gupta ensemble titled ‘Bravehearts’, she wore an off-shoulder black gown with a ghungroo and crystal-studded breastplate.

Winning the emotions of fashion elites and fans was the second heart-shaped breastplate for the baby on her bump, connected with Kiara’s with a jewel-studded chord representing the umbilical cord connecting the mother and the baby. 

Manish Malhotra’s Maximalist Debut 

Indian designer Manish Malhotra ‘ate and left no crumbs’ as the GenZ would call it. In his bold, maximalist couture, he opted for a statement look that spoke of opulence. He took the fine jewels, intricate embroidery, cultural motifs, and studded brooches of the country to the global stage in his exquisite ensemble with a layered white shirt and sculpted sherwani cape.

Diljit Dosanjh’s Daring Debut 

If a man was giving a tough time to the King of Bollywood was the Punjabi global sensation Diljit Dosanjh. Diljit’s Met Gala debut was nothing short of a daring statement with the flair of pride for his roots and their extravagant heritage.

Dosanjh looked indeed like a ‘Maharaja’ in a custom Prabal Gurung all white enable inspired by the Royal Sikhs. He wore a pristine silk sherwani with hues of gold and ivory with a bejeweled turban, white kalgi, a themat, and a statement lion-headed, jewel-studded kirpan. His cape was a loud statement with the silhouetted map of Punjab and the Gurumukhi script embroidered on it. A tribute to his Punjabi Heritage on the international stage. 

India’s regular Priyanka Chopra and Isha Ambani also attend the fashion night in a polka dot suit dress by Balmain and a studded Anamika Khanna, respectively.
