Odisha Self-immolation Case: Student Dies, CM Majhi Expresses Grief, Vows Action

Odisha Self-Immolation Case: A 20-year-old student from Fakir Mohan Autonomous College in Odisha's Balasore succumbed to her injuries after attempting self-immolation to end prolonged sexual harassment by the Head of Department at her college. 

The girl was taken to the Department of Burn Centre, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where she took her last breath. According to reports, her formal complaint with the college authorities was ignored, leading her to take this action. 

Expressing grief over the incident, Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi assured “all those guilty in this case will face the strictest punishments as per law” in an X post.
