Online Betting Scam: Five, including popular names of Bollywood and Indian cricketers, are under the heat of the Electoral Directorate for promoting illegal betting games that have been prohibited in India.
Cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh along with actors Urvashi Rautela and Sonu Sood are under a probe by the ED for promoting illegal betting apps like ‘OneXBet’ that is draining India’s finances.
Allegedly Rs. 50 crores are used to finance these advertisements across mediums. The Indian illegal betting industry is said to be worth more than $100 billion estimated.
