Kalki 2898 AD:  The unstoppable epic science fiction film by Nag Ashwin will make the viewers wait longer than usual before making a final arrival on OTT. Kalki 2898 AD hit the theaters on 27 June 2024 and since then the movie has received magnificent reviews with immense gross office collection rocketing beyond Rs. 1000 crore globally.

The pan-Indian film is a blend of Indian mythology and trailblazing futuristic technology. It has evoked intrigue and awe in its viewers with the cinemagoers flooding the theater to witness Nag Ashwin’s creation. Those who are waiting for the film to drop on OTT however will have to wait longer as the Kalki 2898 AD will stream on OTT after 10 weeks of its theatrical release. Perusal, any theatrically released movie waits for four weeks before streaming online, with Kalki 2898 AD though the makers have decided otherwise.

The Prabhas starrer will be available online in early September on two streaming platforms. Prime Video has reportedly secured the rights for four regional languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam meanwhile Netflix India has the rights for the Hindi version.

Boasting an epic cast, the film stars Prabhas as Bhairava and Karna, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama, Deepika Padukone as SUM-80, Kamal Haasan as the antagonist Supreme Yaskin, Disha Patani as Roxie in pivotal roles, with thrilling cameos of SS Rajamouli, Mrunal Thakur, Dalquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda, and Ram Gopal Varma.

In the future, Kalki is a visually stunning cinematic experience. The plot amalgamates the Indian epic Mahabharata with the themes of immortality-hungry villains set in a post-apocalyptic world that is technologically advanced. As the evil intentions of Yaskin, the ruling King of the only habitable city, dawn up, the world awaits the tenth reincarnation of Vishnu i.e. Kalki who will be birthed by Sumathi or SUM-80. From various references to Mahabharata, the movie takes the viewers on a journey of extremities with the hope of a Kalki avatar to reincarnate and save humanity.
