Famous Filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar passed away, know all about him

Pradeep Sarkar Biography: Pradeep Sarkar, a 67-year-old director best known for his work on the movies Parineeta, Helicopter Eela, and Mardaani, has passed away. On Friday morning, director Hansal Mehta posted the information to his Twitter account, writing: "Indradeep Sarkar. RIP, Dada."  

Pradeep Sarkar directed several well-known music videos and advertisements before breaking into the film industry. With Parineeta, he made his filmmaking debut in 2005. Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, and Vidya Balan all appeared in the movie. 


Who is Pradeep Sarkar?

Pradeep, who has won the coveted Abby Award, Rapa Award, and National Film Award, started his career in 1979 after graduating with a gold medal from Delhi College of Art. After serving as Creative Director - Art for 17 years in traditional advertising, he launched his production company into Delhi's advertising circles to start his career as an accomplished ad-film producer.

The eminent filmmaker was born on April 30, 1955 in Kolkata, West Bengal.  


Pradeep Sarkar Filmography

The 2005 film Parineeta had an effect on the viewers. It was also the debut film of well-known actress Vidya Balan. The Bengali novella of the same name written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1914 served as the inspiration for this musical drama. The film also starred the slick and multi-talented Sanjay Dutt in addition to Vidya Balan. With this film, Pradeep won the National Film Award for Best Director. Also, he won a few other honours, such as Best Art Direction and Most Promising Director. In addition, he was nominated for Parineeta's Best Director Award by Filmfare. 

"Laaga Chunari Mein Daag," a film directed by Pradeep and produced by Yash Raj Productions and starring Rani Mukherji, was his subsequent release. It was published in October 2007 and depicted Rani's efforts to support her family while working as a prostitute. Jaya Bachchan and her son Abhishek Bachchan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Hema Malini, Anupam Kher, and other great actors were included in the film. Despite this, the movie did poorly at the box office. 

The visual director for the 2005 film Eklavya: The Royal Guard was Pradeep. His subsequent project, Lafangey Parindey, starred Deepika Padukone.  

Pradeep's 2014 film Mardaani, produced by Yash Raj Films and starring Rani Mukherji once more, was directed by him. This film was well-liked. In 1998, he also produced and directed the short film Dhoom Pichuck (Euphoria).

Pradeep was in charge of the art department for the television programme "Not a Good Guy to Know." He served as both the music director and associate director for the 2000 film "Mission Kashmir." For "Everyone Says I'm Alright," he also oversaw the camera and electrical departments.
