In recent weeks, social media users, particularly those on TikTok, have stated that Hailey is a “mean girl” and that she and her friends have not always been friendly to Selena. Selena uploaded some embarrassing films of herself to TikTok and Instagram Stories. “I laminated my brows too much,” she stated. Hours later, Hailey uploaded a screenshot to Instagram of herself FaceTiming with her friend Kylie Jenner, which fans interpreted as a jab at Gomez.

When it turned into a massive social media controversy
