Thailand-Cambodia Conflict: US President Donald Trump Urges Ceasefire, Halts Trade Talks

Thailand-Cambodia Conflict: US President Donald Trump has now intervened in Cambodia’s ongoing dispute with Thailand. He had separate phone discussions with Cambodia’s Prime Minister and Thailand’s acting Prime Minister, encouraging both countries to cease fire. In addition, President Trump discussed possible trade talks with both nations. However, he made it clear that any such conversations would be halted until the two countries agreed to a cease-fire.

Warfare Intensifies 

Thailand has started attacks with fighter jets and heavy weapons, while Cambodia has reinforced its borders with huge landmine fields, effectively barring ground incursions and limiting Thailand’s options to aerial assault. According to reports, Cambodia’s deployment of the Russian-made BM-21 rocket system caused substantial damage to Thai forces.
