The Diplomat on OTT:  John Abraham’s highly anticipated political thriller ‘The Diplomat’ is set to make its debut on OTT on a popular digital streaming platform. The film was released in theaters on 14 March to mixed reviews from the audience. 

When and Where To Watch The Diplomat 

The Diplomat narrates the story of an Indian diplomat J.P. Singh and a woman in distress Uzma Ahmed. Based on real-life events of Singh, the film sheds light on the professional and personal challenges faced by the diplomats of the country in their high stakes job. 

The Diplomat starring John Abraham in the lead role of J.P. Singh will be releasing on Netflix on 9th May as revealed by the streaming giant. Sharing on their official social media handles, Netflix wrote, “Mark your calendars. The Diplomat arrives on 9 May on Netflix.”

The film had a lukewarm impact in the cinemas at its theatrical release and earned only a sum of Rs 51 crores worldwide. However the plot, and Abraham’s performance was critically acclaimed. 

For the fans of Abraham, it was one of the most anticipated films to release in theaters, and the ones who missed it in cinemas were eagerly waiting for The Diplomat’s OTT debut to stream it from the comfort of their homes.

About The Diplomat 

With Sadia Khateeb in the role of Uzma Ahmed and John Abraham as Indian diplomat J.P Singh, The Diplomat follows a meticulous Indian diplomat J.P. Singh who must help an Indian woman Uzma Ahmed (Khateeb) tricked into marrying a Pakistani man. 

Uzma seeks help from the Indian Embassy in Islamabad to return to her home across the border safely, where J.P. Singh is tasked to navigate the murky waters of international relations and diplomacy to help Uzma, who married her abusive partner, thinking that he truly loved her. However, it is only after she is abused at the hands of the man claiming to love her that she decides to find a way out with the help of Singh.
