We are back with HZ Women Of The Month. We had our first session with former Indian skipper and current cricket commentator, Anjum Chopra where she talked about carving out a niche in a male dominated sport, lack of opportunity for women cricketers and more. 

Who is Anjum Chopra

Former Indian cricketer Anjum Chopra now works as a cricket commentator. She made her maiden appearance on the cricket field when she was nine years old. Anjum made her one-day international debut against New Zealand on February 12th, 1995, when she was 17 years old. Anjum was selected as the captain of the Indian squad in 2002. In her debut series as captain, she utilized 7 newbies to help India defeat England in a record-setting whitewash victory. Six World Cups, including two T20 World Cups and four 50-over World Cups, have seen her represent India. She is the first athlete to play 100 ODIs for India.

 Anjum has begun to be recognised as the face of women's cricket in India as a player, captain, consultant, analyst, motivational speaker and more carving out a niche in the nation's male-dominated sport.
