National Mathematics Day celebrated on 22 December

National Mathematics Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. One of his most treasured findings was his infinite series for pi. This series forms the basis of many algorithms used today. He gave several formulas to calculate the digits of pi in many ways.


Nagaland creates 3 new districts

Nagaland government has created three new districts in the state. The total number of districts is now 15, namely, these three new districts are Tseminyu, Niuland and Chumukedima.


World Economic Forum: Davos meeting postponed 

The annual meetings of world leaders have been postponed amidst the fear of COVID the meeting was supposed to be held in January.



ADB to provide $350 million loan to India

To improve the urban services in India, the Asian Development Bank gas granted a $350 million loans to India. It will help accelerate policy actions and reforms to enhance service delivery and promote performance-based central fiscal transfers to urban local bodies.


Joumou Soup added by UNESCO to Cultural Heritage List

Audrey Azoulay, the director-general of UNESCO, released a statement in which Joumou soup was called  “so much more than just a dish.” This cuisine belongs to Haiti.
