UP News: Following the Mansa Devi stampede in Haridwar, a similar incident occurred Sunday night in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district at the historic Ausaneshwar Mahadev temple in the Haidargarh area. On the third Monday of Sawan, the Jalabhishek began after 12 o’clock in the night in front of a large crowd of devotees gathered at the Ausaneshwar Mahadev temple.
According to District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi, some monkeys jumped on the electric wire, forcing it to break and fall on the temple’s tin shed, causing panic among the devotees due to the spread of current. Two devotees are said to have died on the spot, while 29 others were injured, including women and children.
