Weather Update: Heavy Rain And Hailstorms In Delhi, UP, Rajasthan; IMD Issues Yellow Alert In Other States

Weather Update:  The residents of Delhi-NCR witnessed heavy rains and thunderstorms at night, leading to a drop in temperature and severe waterlogging across the city. Rain has brought a wave of relief from the high heat and humidity in Delhi, Bihar, Rajasthan, and other states, but hailstorms in Uttar Pradesh have affected the lives of people severely. 

Widespread rain and hailstorm in UP, especially Gorakhpu, damaged vehicles, trees, and took the lives of a woman and a couple due to tree falls caused by the storm. CM Yogi has announced compensation for the affected families. 

Rain and dust storms were witnessed in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and light snowfall in Himachal Pradesh. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain and storms in Punjab till 7 May.
