World News: US President Donald Trump has fulfilled his campaign promise by imposing extra tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China. Trump has threatened India with similar penalties but has yet to make a decision on Indian products. However, it is likely that he would extend these prices to India.
Trump Plans to Impose Tariff in India
President Trump has already floated the subject of slapping additional taxes on American two-wheeler imports into India. The general budget proposes lowering the customs charge on two-wheelers with engines larger than 1,600 cc capacity from 50 to 40 percent, as well as the duty on imported semi-knocked down two-wheeler kits from 25 to 20 percent. American companies, such as Harley Davidson, are projected to benefit the most from this.
